Hi, I'm Matthew Harings, Psy.D., MSCP.
Pronouns: He/him

Navigating the rigors of life causes distress and dissatisfaction for many youth. The pressures of academia, social interactions, and of the family are difficult to manage never mind to thrive in these same environments. My emphasis on empirically based treatments ensures you are getting the most up-to-date and research based interventions for yourself or your child. Empiricism also tells me a one-size-fits-all approach is in fact not for everyone. Receiving services with me means science and individual needs are woven together for effective results. Feel the difference this can have for yourself. Schedule an appointment today!

Hi, I'm Aila Amil, PsyD
Pronouns: She/her

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with robust experience working in community, residential and medical settings. I work predominately from a relational model that utilizes an intersectional feminist lens to situate people’s lived experiences. People can have multiple identities and belief systems that deserve recognition. Leveraging these nuances can empower patients to utilize coping strategies and frameworks that serve to better sustain their wellbeing. Whether it is seeking out specific solutions or making meaning of an event, I strive to work collaboratively alongside patients in their healing journey.

I also have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ Community. I recognize the importance of understanding the historical, sociopolitical context to de-pathologizing sexual and gender identity differences. From coming out to navigating trans/gender expansive care, I enjoy walking alongside folks in moving towards living more authentically. I support working from an informed consent model and strongly believe in empowering people to make their own choices when considering what congruence and authenticity looks like for them.

Hi, I'm Aelijah Lynch, MA, MDiv
Pronouns: They/Them
Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a pre-licensed clinician supervised by Dr. Amil. My master’s degrees are in clinical mental health counseling with a certificate in sex therapy from Adler University, and in religions studies from the University of Chicago. Prior to clinical practice, I worked in hospitality and in LGBTQ+ and human rights activism, locally and internationally.

I have supported adults and adolescents navigating ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum diagnoses, chronic pain and disability, anxiety and depression, gender and sexual exploration, oppression-related distress, intimate relationships (eg, marital or sexual partners, parents and children), employment difficulties, and traumatic experiences. While I adapt to the needs and goals of each unique person, my theoretical foundation is Relational Cultural Theory, which focuses on connection and mutuality while recognizing power dynamics – including systemic oppressions – within the therapeutic relationship itself and beyond. It is an honor to support others on their life journey, and I strive to take a collaborative, empathic, non-judgmental approach.

My Purpose

My work and ambition are about evolving psychological practice.

Developmentally Minded

As a child and adolescent clinical psychologist my doctoral degree educated me on the needs of those navigating the developmental range of 0-25 years of age. From fostering supportive environments, parent training, and individual skills development I am suited to address the needs of individuals across the lifespan.

Prescribing Psychology

Continuing my training and education, I completed a Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology (MSCP) simultaneously with my doctoral degree. The dual degrees move me one step closer to becoming a child and adolescent prescribing psychologist. This revolutionary position would allow psychological and pharmacological treatments to be provided under a single treatment provider. Read more about our efforts and the RxP movement by clicking the image above.

Professional Experiences

Experiences over my 5+ years of training and professional practice include affiliations with Northwestern Medicine, Aunt Martha’s Health and Wellness, Adler University, Purdue University: NW, and various successful private practices throughout Chicago. From integrating medical and psychological practice in medical settings to one-on-one therapy, my skill set is suited to the need.
